Marc-Andre ter Stegen was once again key for Barcelona as they beat Getafe 2-0 away from home on Saturday afternoon.

The goalkeeper has been in inspired form to start the 2019/20 campaign, and he even recorded an assist as his long ball led to Luis Suarez opening the scoring.

"It was at the perfect moment," Ter Stegen said about Barcelona's first goal.

"Luis started [running] and it was a marvellous goal.

"I was missing an assist.

"I was happy to do something [extra] for the team.

"We're going back to Barcelona with all three points."

The 27-year-old understands how difficult it is to come to the Estadio Coliseum Alfonso Perez and win.

"It was not easy to play here," Ter Stegen explained.

"I am happy to win and take three points.

"It is a step forward. We must avoid conceding goals."

With the fixtures coming thick and fast, it's a welcome relief to pick up back-to-back wins against Getafe and Villarreal midweek, after losing to Granada.

The Barcelona No.1 spoke of the team using their experience to improve.

"In some moments, we have used our experience, which is very important," Ter Stegen added.

"We play every three or four days and in the end you get together and know how to defend.

"We have failed sometimes, but today we have improved."
